Stash report 7/17/2011

I did a little sewing but not as much as I had planned.  We spent one day at a motel while we were waiting for our new (in October) AC to be repaired so that day was lost.  Then we spent most of several days looking for a new (actually nearly new) car to replace mine which was stolen a few weeks ago.  No luck there either.

It was so good to get in the sewing room on Thursday and zone out piecing a new top and listening to a book on CD.  I did put the borders on the blue/yellow and green quilt.  No photos yet though.

Used this week:  21"-lets say 1/2 yard
Used year to date:   23 3/4 yards
Added this week:     0 yards
Added year to date:     41 3/4 yards
Net added:   11 3/4 yards

Moose tracks is back from the quilter.  She did an outstanding job.  I have the binding machine stitched on the front and need to hand sew it on the back.  I need to come up with a name too.  Maybe-bright lights?

I have tried and tried but for some reason I ca't download the photos I wanted to share.  I'll try again tomorrow.

Design Wall Monday July 11th

How fast time flies when you're having fun.  I thought I would be further along with my annual quilting goals but heck, I like what I have done so far.  And! best of all, I have enjoyed doing it.

I plan to add the borders to my yellow/blue/green quilt top today.  It will be a plain 3" border of the same material I used for the sashing-Krystal by Michael Miller.

Any ideas for a name???  This top is based on Bonnie Hunter's Star Struck pattern.

stash report 7/10/2011

I am almost finished with my blue/yellow and green quilt.  I need to add the borders and the top is done.  I used 15 fat quarters from my stash and added 3 fat quarters and 3 half yards for the blocks.  I will count the sashing after I finish the borders.  I did not purchase or order any fabric this week.

Used this week:  6 yards
Used year to date:   23 1/4 yards
Added this week:     0 yards
Added year to date:     41 3/4 yards
Net added:   12 1/4 yards  (corrected figure)

I showed my Ladybug Hugs quilt in the past.  Here are the latest shots:

This is little Julia, my new grand niece.  She was born in early May.  Doesn't she compliment my quilt?

Design Wall Monday July 4th

Somehow today seems like another Sunday here.  I guess it will be another lazy day.   It is so hot here and the humidity is up-hopefully we will get some much needed rain.

I feel like I should be working on a red, white and blue quilt today but I'm continuing work on my blue/yellow/green quilt.  Over half of the stars are sewn and the sashing is cut.  I'm very happy with the scrappy outcome.  I did not really rearrange the pieces much so I have a very, very random look.  I don't think I will add any other borders but there are lots of left over bits and pieces so time will tell.

I'm looking forward to fireworks tonight and time to be thankful for our freedoms.  I am grateful to all who helped us obtain our freedom and maintain it.

Sunday Stash Report 7/3/2011

I am still working on  my yellow/blue/green scrappy quilt.  I decided that I did not have enough light fabrics for this top.  My stash is decidedly slim on lights.  So, off to my LQS for some shopping.  My LQS is moving after 35 years in business in one location.  Well, actually they started as a Sew and Vac store and over time expanded and expanded to fabric. patterns, books and classes.  Unfortunately, the store is dark and crowded.  I am looking forward to their new bigger and brighter location.  They have been having some great sales too.

The top photo is the new fabric and the bottom is some of the fabric I already had.

Here is a look at the top.  Hopefully there will be lots more for Design Wall Monday.
